Online Shield

Over the years we have learned that financial security is one of the most valuable benefits of safe and sustainable networking.

Let’s be clear: no global network can provide 100% financial guarantee for its members, because the freight forwarding industry does not operate in a static environment – it is dynamic, fast-changing, and often unpredictable.

In this reality, the ONLINE WORLD CARGO NETWORK ensures trust and reliability through comprehensive company verification and continuous monitoring. This way, members can connect with partners who meet the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

To support this mission, we developed the ONLINE Shield system, designed to combine robust safety components with the flexibility needed in today’s global trade. Thanks to its solid foundations and community-driven approach, it has become one of the strongest and most reliable financial protection frameworks in the entire industry.

Within ONLINE WORLD CARGO NETWORK, financial security
is not just a feature – it is the shared value that unites all members.

What is Online Shield?

ONLINE Shield is the financial and trust-protection system of the network. It consists of:

  • comprehensive and verifiable pre-screening security checks, and
  • the ONLINE Freight Invoice Protection system (OFIP).

Both have been developed to ensure the highest level of security for ONLINE WORLD CARGO NETWORK members and to meet the real needs of an ever-changing industry.

Powerful.  Simple.  Secure.

Powerful – strong and reliable information from two solid sources.

  • As part of the ONLINE Shield verification process, we analyze your company background details as a registering member both in your current state and up to three years back through the Creditsafe Credit Report (Creditsafe – The Global Business Intelligence Experts).
  • In addition, we assess your business behavior – communication style, cooperation activity, and reliability – through reference checks with at least two active business partners you have engaged with in the past three years.

Simple – one common fund, broad financial security.

  • Contributions from members are pooled into the ONLINE WORLD solidarity fund, ensuring financial security for all participating members on a stable and sustainable basis.

Secure – significant, and growing year by year.

  • Every year, ONLINE WORLD CARGO NETWORK reviews reported claims up to March 31st, to determine how much the invoice protection level can be increased for the following year – never reduced compared to the base year (current base year: 2024).
  • The OFIP system provides financial compensation for overdue, unpaid freight invoices generated by any participating ONLINE WORLD CARGO NETWORK member during the membership period.

Information to membership

1. The ONLINE Shield is available for ONLINE WORLD Cosmos and ONLINE WORLD Galaxy members only, who have paid the full Cosmos Network membership fee or the Galaxy Network membership fee plus the extra protection fee for the agreed period.

2. Membership in the ONLINE WORLD Cosmos or Galaxy Network applies to registered offices only.

3. Fees for additional domestic offices are determined on the basis of individual agreements, while the OFIP protection system also applies to these offices.

4. One ONLINE WORLD Year = 13 months.
• Membership can only be considered continuous if the fee for the next period is paid before the previous period ends.
• Continuity requires that the last day of the current membership period and the first day of the next period follow one another without interruption.

Why is this important?

If a member pays the membership fee for the next period late, the payment date becomes the official beginning of the next invoice protection period. Any unpaid invoices incurred during the interim gap* are not eligible for compensation, even if the fee is later paid retroactively.

5. In ONLINE WORLD CARGO NETWORK, there is no fixed shipping credit policy.

EFIP system conditions and guidelines

If any unpaid freight invoice becomes officially reported to the ONLINE WORLD CARGO NETWORK, the following commitments apply:

1. Principles

The purpose of ONLINE WORLD CARGO NETWORK is to achieve the peaceful resolution of cases, committed to resolving disputes between parties fairly, transparently, and as quickly as possible.

2. Mediation and Compensation

   • We provide mediation between the parties and, if conditions are met, undertake responsibility for the payment of valid claims related to unpaid freight invoices.
   • Compensation applies only if the invoice meets the requirements below.

2.1. Eligibility

   • Only invoices over 60 calendar days overdue, incurred during the membership period, are considered.
   • The creditor must inform ONLINE WORLD CARGO NETWORK within 30 calendar days after the 60-day deadline via official email, describing the case and attaching proof (invoice, correspondence, etc.).

2.2. Procedure

   • Upon notification, ONLINE WORLD CARGO NETWORK issues an official notice to the debtor, urging settlement, and informs all members of the network.
   • The debtor must provide proof of payment within 10 calendar days, and the creditor must confirm receipt.
   • If unresolved, a second notice is issued, and the debtor’s membership is temporarily suspended.
   • If all efforts fail, the case is redirected through official legal channels.
   • Each year, by March 31st, ONLINE WORLD CARGO NETWORK reviews all reported unpaid invoices.
   • If claims are legitimate, compensation is approved and transferred in USD within 10 working days, including bank fees.
   • Legal cases may extend the process until resolution.

2.3. Invoice Requirements

Invoices must:
   1. Include the word Invoice and an official number.
   2. Include issuer/receiver names, addresses, and tax IDs.
